Hello All
I am having a very weird issue with my Marantz 2245 receiver.. Let me start by saying I bought this completely refurbished last year and recently just had serviced again,, this issue has ALWAYS been present. The issue ONLY occurs on the phono stage (note i tried 2 different turntables).. OK here goes (note i have iphone video of me duplicating issue also if anybody wants i can send).. So when i am playing records thru the phono stage of the marantz and I am using 4 speakers (8 ohm pairs) and I have LOUDNESS engaged,,, bass on 10,mid on 6 and treble on 6,,anytime i put volume past 9-10 oclock ANY vibration that comes to the receiver (if i tap it or even press-depress any of the buttons) there is a very loud crackle/pop noise coming from the right channel.. Again this is only if i'm pushing the receiver with the loundness button engaged and bass full bore and volume past 9 oclock.. If i dis-engaged the LOUDNESS button or lower the bass the issue only occurs on higher volumes,, also it doesn't happen at all if i only use 1 pair of speakers.. This issue eventually led to my right channel blowing out which is i why i recently had to have it serviced.. The problem still happens now,, i made a video and took it back to the reputable service center i had it if it fixed and the guy said it is because i'm pushing the receiver to hard ( I know the loundess button should only be used at low volumes). Now i have no reason to doubt the guy BUT why is it only when i use the phono stage??.. if i use the tape/aux inputs with a cd player or ipod i don't run into this issue,, meaning i can have volume BLASTING with 4 speakers, loudness button engaged and bass full bore. Any help would greatly be appreciated... I'm debating at this point to get an external phono preamp to bypass the phono stage all together,, but i love the marantz sound
