I have 2 questions in this thread. I have a Marantz 2250B from teenage days. I was reading some info about the lack of speaker protection say in the Marantz 1060 amp. It brings the question to me does the Marantz 2250B have speaker protection ? d/c protection etc Also my balance slide is not functioning so the service tech bypassed it. Is there an issue doing that? Thanks you for the info

Welcome to AK! That's cool you still have your 2250B after all these years. It does have a protection circuit and relay. And if done correctly there should be no issue with bypassing the balance control.

Is there a reason why the control is not repaired? That slider was used on many models and is a very easy fix if a donor part is required. If just a broken tab that is a real easy fix. You need only pull the slider out of the donor and replace the broken one. No need to unsolder any wires....

Good evening Oerets and Runningdog, So I finally found a balance slider on e bay and had the tech change it out and all works well. I plan on getting the receiver restored unfortunately having to ship it since there is no experienced tech in East TN NC Asheville area. Thanks for the info
