Marantz 2252b. Stereo lamp housing melted

Re 2252b — My housing for the stereo lamp is melted. Anyone deal with this issue before? It’s partially blocking the illumination. Can’t tell if it is part of the larger dial lamp housing or not…. Any wisdom appreciated!!

It couldnt be melted because is rubber. Rubber hardened during the years and heat.
Heres what I do. If the bulb "saddle" is deformed somehow you can cut it away. Bulb replacement is bigger in size most of the time. So it wont fall out. Glue the stereo housing to The "ceiling" of outer plastic dial housing. Paint the inner side of the little stereo light housing with white edding marker. Just use some soft silicone bathroom or automotive glue for best results.

I use 8V bi pin led or incandescent. If you are from the us member @dgwojo is your man ; else epay - peaceloveandmusic, ton4eff etc.
