Marantz 2265 Blue Missing on Tuner Number

Hi! I recently acquired a Marantz 2265. Besides being dusty and crackling which can be resolved easily enough, the blue numbers seem to be missing some of the blue. Has anyone seen this before? And can it be repaired?

Yep. The dial was scraped by a screw driver or another tool when somebody removed it. They wore off the coloring from the back side. You can take a fine point sharpie or similar hobby marker that is of a very similar color replace the color in the scraped off areas. It will look better, if you use a close match and are careful nobody will be able to tell.

For black areas that were scraped and have light coming through just use a plain black sharpie.

Thank you - I picked up a cheap replacement that was in even worse shape to test some techniques. I’ll give it a go!

I manage to repair in a way that @Warren-Oates said, many of the dials. Scratches were not so big as on yours but anyway. Go for it.
