Marantz 2270 signal strength meter not working

Restoration in progress , at the end and I got great results except for the signal meter is dead? Multipath switch does zip too?.
FM is working decent with strong reception and stereo lamp is working. Meter itself will deflect with a quick test in diode mode on my DMM. There's a few posts about this problem but none seem to help out in this case..

This is a common problem with not only the 2270 but also 2230 and 2245. Check your 1st IF amplifier transistor on the P200 board the one under the metal RF shield on the bottom of the chassis. Look to see first if it was removed and the shield pinched or cut through any wires. If you see slight signal deflection it is usually a failing transistor usually the 1st IF amplifier. Also the P550 board has an adjustment pot for signal meter calibration. Be careful as the pot closest to the rear panel adjust the muting level before the rear panel pot on the back. Also the discriminator and L301 coils are notorious for poisoned silver oxide capacitors which will cause no FM stereo beacon.
