Marantz 2270 speaker matching question

Hello all,
I am fairly new to the forum and not a technical wizard. I am having my Marantz 2270 rebuilt by a well-regarded member of this forum. I am very excited to get it back. I have a pair of very large Canton Ergo 690 DC speakers and I would like to pair them with the Marantz. I have read about issues the 2270 has with 4 ohm speakers, and the specs for these say 4-8 ohm, Will this match be a problem? Too much strain on the amp? Or not enough juice for the speakers? The speakers can handle considerably more watts per channel than the Marantz will deliver, but I realize these numbers don't always tell the whole story. Any thoughts?

You should consult with the individual you have entrusted to refurbish your unit.

I doubt there would be any significant issues provided you don't regularly push the unit hard for extended periods. Keep the unit in an area to maximize cooling and monitor how warm it gets during normal operation.

I used my updated 2270 to power my AR 3's and the two worked beautifully together. The old 3's are not an easy load to drive and the 2270 just made them sing and barely got warm.

You will love the 2270 with whatever speakers you hook up to it. Just power one set at a time if you utilize the two pair A/B capability would be my advice.
