I'm seeing a 2245 listed on CL with a black faceplate and the guy is trying to say it came that way from the PX (post exchange or Army stores, which often sold gear that wasn't available on the American domestic market). It looks new, and I'm not convinced the font on the top center buttons is exactly right. It also has the LED upgrades, but the owner says he's had it for 31 years.
The faceplate is new, right? Nothing wrong with that, it just strikes me as an odd thing to lie about. It would almost be cooler to say that it was new and custom than to make up a story. Makes me not trust the rest of it, and the price is well below market value too.

I think that this guy may be actively trolling us at this point. I got this DM shortly after this convo from a new member. Here’s the ad linked to, claiming the restore on the amp is related to AK. I’ll apologize if this turns out to be on the level, but this seems like a persistent scam that has gotten personal and I’m not going to sleep on it.
Can anybody bring this to the moderators’ attention?
