Marantz 2275 and 2270 Running 4 Speakers?

Not sure if there is a better forum for this but wondering if anyone has some insight into this question?

I have two pairs of 8 ohm speakers connected to both the 2275 (two pairs) and 2270 (another two pairs). I have run both receivers with both pairs selected without any issues for years. My listening levels are moderate mostly and if I do want to turn up the volume I use only one pair.

I'm considering reconfiguring my set up by reducing the speakers from 4 pairs to 2 pairs and then using a Russound 2.1 to enable the 2 pair set up to be used by either the 2275 or 2270 at the press of some buttons. The Russound 2.1 has two amp inputs and two spearker pairs outputs. Using the 2275 as an example, you wire the 2275 Main speaker terminals Left and Right to the input on the Russound 2.1 and can then select speakers A, B or AB on the Russound. The difference here compared to what I currently have set up, is that currently one pair of speakers is connected to "Main" on the 2275 and one pair is connected to "Remote".

Question: would there be any difference in load on the receiver by connecting the Russound 2.1 to the 2275's main speaker terminals and setting the Russound to run both pairs (AB) as compared to my current set up which is connecting the two pairs of speakers using the main and remote connectors on the 2275.

It looks like there is an impedance matching mode on that unit. I would definitely use that, I’m curious how your pairs are connected. If all pairs are in series, you are running 16 ohms per output. But if running both main and remote at the same time, I believe they are parallel, so total nominal impedance should be 8 ohms. That seems OK. If you have your speakers in parallel, you are running 4 ohms per output, and 2 ohms total if running all eight speakers. That seems like a recipe for destruction of your amp.

Running main and remote at the same time and there is an impedance matching setting on the Russound 2.1
 
Update: Set up and everything working fine. There is a bit of a learning curve using the Russounds UI as far as button engagement is concerned but no a big deal. I'll run it for awhile and if anything changes I'll provide an update.
