Marantz 2285 Metal Case - One Size Does NOT Fit All

So, I'm wanting to hunt down a metal case which I will powder coat, but I don't know if other cases will fit my 2285. I don't see this part# in the service manual.

Was the metal cover/cabinet for a 2285 used for various models? Does anyone have cross reference chart?

Okay, can anyone tell me if a Marantz 2285 & Marantz 2235B shared the same metal cover?

I can tell you that it isn't. I have a 2235B here and an open 2285 and it's cover is about a half inch longer and the side holes are different distances apart. The top cover part number of the 85 may be 2917053010. The two pages that show the exploded view are missing from the manuals I could find. I did look at the 2265 manual which does have those pages but the following page where a cover is listed early on has the reference numbers cut off at the left. Dang it! But that number doesn't match the 2285's. I get the feeling there may be no other place it's used. The closest previous gen unit is the model 2275.

OK, so looked at the 2275 manual and the top cover is called a "lid" and is part number 291625701, early in the list.
The 2265 manual lists a lid 2916257010
The 2285 manual lists a lid 2916257020

So none match but at least I think you have a good part number to dig around some more!

It may be easier to source a wood case than a metal cover.
