Marantz 2325 - 2SA720/2SC1318 proper subs

The proof of the restoring is in the listening.

I'm repairing an intermittent amp board. I tried replacing 2SA720/2SC1318 with KSA1013YTA/KSC2383YTA, it works starting off but in 5 minutes the channel cuts off. I put back the originals and everything works. Main reason for replacing is for reliability since these seem to be in the naughty list.

I've seen other experienced members in this forum choose to use KSA992/KSC1845 instead - just curious to see what ya'lls experience has been with either sub sets. I am keeping the originals for now because, well they are working. But I may need to have them replaced at some point, even in another unit.

Those are appropriate subs. Are you sure something else isn't triggering it or something during installation caused an issue?
It's always good to replace transistors, minus outputs mainly because they're just so expensive.

Sound cutting out is indicative of a connection issue, not bad transistors. Dirty switches and pots, cracked solder joints, dirty relay contacts, etc.
2SC1318 is a good device. It has problems in places like hot Pioneer power supplies because it is running on the ragged edge of its specs.
