Marantz 2325 dead ruin. What would you do?

Today I had time to clean the right power amp:

Well at least the receiver is singing again!

Congrats, now you just need to find the faceplate!

Patience and searching might get you the part you need. You can also consider the possibility of fabricating one. Sadly it might get expensive. I have a 2385 and needs a few knobs. 2 of them, I can possibly find. But, one of them is the volume knob and it's gonna be a needle in a haystack to ever find one. I have been searching for the last couple weeks ever since I got that 2385. I have considered some ways to get it fabricated if finding one is unsuccessful.

Yes, ccheath, its me. :D Truely I learned a lot here. But I had just luck, that it was only a small problem on this receiver. Otherwise I couldnt have done it.

If I could do something better, please let me know, how and what! Thanks!

Bolly: Yes, I love the polishing, too. Maybe, I will make a woodcase, where you can see the nice marantz-stamped trannies from outside. Wouldn't it be nice?

This one now on ebay is pretty rough Obviously stored under crappy conditions. But it's got a complete faceplace and all the knobs. Put it together with yours and you ought to wind up with one nice unit and parts to sell.

ON EDIT: Never mind, replied without reading page two. Doh.

Came out beautiful!

ON REDIT: Oh, you do still need the front parts? Depends on how that auction would come out whether it would be a good move or not. There's all that shipping, which just gets worse if you need it to go to Germany....

Sorry, I was not here for a while. But this beast took really much of my time!

The faceplate is still missing--I missed the one on the bay a few weeks ago (was a little bit pricey, too) and I am still looking for the right tape monitor switch. Its broken, too. :tears:

Besides of this, I think, I made Saul happy! :D

It really was incredible much or work! I even rebuilt the metal piece, which is above the tuning string! :D
This thing had A LOT of broken stuff---I replaced the Dolby Switch, repainted the transformer, just to name a few things.
I really put all my energy to this unit.
Here it is. It does not look very spectacular. Here are a few pics anyway:

Hi all,

It's been a long time, but finally I got a face for free for it and finished this project.....was awfully much work, and I would never do this again. When I thought, I was finished, I recognized, that the front chassis was bent.....:sigh:

among many, many other broken things.....

Just would like to post the final result. This unit gave me all....
