I'm restoring a 2325, and I thought I took plenty of pictures, but I can't figure out where this cardboard shield came from. Seems fairly unimportant, but the designer must have thought it was needed, or they wouldn't have bothered. Anyone know where it goes?

I just got done re-stringing the tuning dial, and despite conflicts with the manual and the way it left the factory, I got it done and working smoothly fairly easily.

Also, what's a good source for replacement Velum?

There are three cardboard pieces that I recall. Larger one on the bottom cover to protect the PE01 tone board and the other is behind the P400 Phono amp. There is one like that between the switch assembly PU01 and the PE01.
I used baking parchment instead of velum and it worked great, however I did go LED so there's no heat.

I also have a broken dubbing out jack on this unit that I would like to replace (even though nobody is ever likely to use it). Any suggestions on a drop-in replacement?
 
I've never had to replace one and I use mine all of the time for my recording studio. Not sure, but looks like this might work from Digikey. Be sure you check the length of the screw shaft. Before you disconnect the wires on the old one, take a photo and do continuity tests on the wires so you know which is ground, left and right channels. Then make sure the new one has the same configuration.

I just got done replacing my lamp housing. That same piece was loose on mine. It goes on the left side of the lamp housing. The glue looking side is vertical against the left side of the lamp housing and the other side is horizontal kinda sliding under the tuning wheel. If you look on the auction site for the 2325 lamp housing, there is a video there and during disassembly it shows the cardboard and where it goes. Its purpose is to shield some light from the front display .
 
Oh yes I just went and looked at it but it's against the right side of the lamp housing, not the left. I never had to remove the lamp housing but right under the cardboard is the PU01 switch board. Same cardboard I was talking about, you're just coming at it from the top instead of the bottom like I did.
