Marantz 250 Information

Recently picked up the 250 amp along with 3200 console. When I hook up the 250 and the speakers run direct to it it gets fairly hot on top when it is playing. When I hook up to the 250 and run the speaker back into the 3200 and use the output speaker jacks on the 3200 the 250 runs fairly cool at least much cooler than before. Can some one answer that question for me?

Assuming everything was hooked up properly, you should NOT have experienced what you are describing.
Perhaps, if the 250 had not been used in a long time when you first hooked it up...
Be very with the speaker hookup with the 250. Shorting the speaker wires could do more damage than you could imagine.
