Hi,I purchased a Marantz 250M Amp from a seller on EBay! He sent a dated video of the Amp working!
It went through FedEx hell, having reached a certain point in California and then for some unknown reason, it was returned to the sender twice!
The third attempt it finally arrived on island (Oahu) and I took it out to look at it. It’s been bouncing around since May 2, 2020.
He removed the front knobs & faceplate, to protect from damage. However, the inner box had holes where S1 and S2 punched through.
I tried to put the faceplate back on but it looks like the Right Channel switch S2 took a hit and it may be bent and further inspection seems to find the inner face mount is slightly bent. Any suggestions on how to deal with this? I’m also concerned about PCB damage if S2 pot shaft is bent. Any ideas on how to remove the large head bolts (front) holding the pot in place or anything else that I should be concerned with? Any reference to replacement parts, etc would be helpful! I may need to take everything off and flatten the front mounting face plate (inner)? I’ve never worked on these before and we don’t have any Stereo Techs on island that I know of! I’m an ex-Submarine Radioman and have been through a couple of years worth of electronics schools and we repaired our own gear.
