Marantz 3250B recapped but no sound from any source

Hi all, I received a recapped Marantz 3250B, I tested it on the DBT, it powers on, but I have no sound on both channels. I linked pre-out main in, no sound at all, I tested, Aux., Tape 1, Tuner.

The screwed ground is in place the 2 connectors are plugged. I opened it and checked all solders on the main board and for missing parts. Everything seems ok as for the recap. Does this problem ring a bell to someone?

Tested my test cables and headphones

This one I don’t know where to start diagnostics. Any help would be very appreciated.

What are you using for an amplifier?

You do know that this is a preamp, not an amp, right?

He is probably confused as this series of "control amplifiers" also has speaker switching and speaker outputs on the back, but these are just switched passthroughs.

Yes i know it's a console only, i used headphones for the tests i did, yes i have the Service Manual for it. I checked all polarities on the caps that have been changed. I cleaned all pots, sliders, switches with Deoxit.

Sure enough, i came back to the 3250B, i'm sure it was working so fast test, replugged eveything. 1-3250B Pre Out (1 or 2) to AUX on integrated amp. 2-Speakers cables from Int. amp connected to switching speakers set on 3250B 3-Speakers connected to 3250B syst.1 Spk, No shorts on DBT and no sound it powers on that's all. The way it's built i don't know where to start troubleshooting. Any help would be very appreciated. I can hear scratchy Integrated Amp volume pot through that's it...Help! Thanks

So you want two pre-amps in series?

Nope, i don't have an amp. I have a Yamaha A720 to test it only. Should i plug the Pre-out of the 3250B to the Main in (Recceive) of the Yamaha Int. amp. ? Just tried, same results. I hear my scratchy Yamaha volume only tried Aux. and Tuner inputs. Nothing...Thanks

Are you certain those are actual Pre out/Main in jumpers? If they were you should get nothing from the Yamaha volume control. I just searched for photos and saw the "Accessory Send and Receive" connections. That would be a weird way to label Pre out/Main in jumpers! I don't have one nor do I have a manual but I would think that they are more likely a connection for a graphic equalizer or something. Likely tied to the "Tone Bypass" button in some way. Good luck

Hello Todd, makes sense i shouldn't be hearing the Yamaha volume knob, so it's probably for an EQ only as you suggest.
