It was given to me along with a pair of AR-4s (from the sixties!) by the original owner I helped move. Good condition, no quad expansion board. Never worked on as far as I can see. It works, some controls are noisy, stereo field unstable and sound in general without authority and presence.
I'm going to start with the filter caps and the caps on the PSU. Is there any reason to replace semiconductors along the way if they are working? I always thought they either worked or didn't but I see people talking about them getting noisy over time.
