Hey guys,

I've posted an introduction already but I'd like to say hello anyhow.
I just bought a 4400 with an sqa- 2b decoder serial number 4297. I picked it up for $350. It works but has issues. I'd like to get it cleaned and working better myself. But I also want to send it to someone to have it fully restored. Who is the best at restoring vintage marantz? Looking for someone trustworthy and easy to work with.

For cleaning this 4400 how far should I go into it and what do I clean it with?

Nice pickup. I have one in a similar "issues" condition.

In the future, you can search AK via Google by using term+audiokarma. For example...Marantz 4400+audiokarma. No spaces around the plus sign.

Captain thanks for the tip on location. Updated. I'm in Birmingham, AL. That might be a stretch for me to use their services.
 
Forgot to mention the rare blue scope!

Somehow the green one just didn't look right with the LEDs and the black faceplate.

To me that really sets it off.:banana:

BKtheking did an amazing job on mine. Fixed the scope which was dead and a complete restore. They are an absolute nightmare to work on.
 
D&A will cost you a fortune, better to find a private person with a good rep.

4400's are a PITA to redo, i've done 3 of them. One for vintageplus, another one for an ak'r in Michigan and the one Endervox has now. Since you are in Birmingham, I'd say Blaine , Tom, Randy or wlhd1610.
