I have recently been working on brining a 5020 back to life, and with my recent success in doing so, and the amount of time I've spent looking over the 5220 service manual and schematics (the only ones i could find or had available), I've noticed that one of the few differences between the two units (5020 and 5220) is the 5020's lack of a Peak Indicator.
So, I figured I'd pose the question to the resident Marantz gurus: Would it be possible to add a Peak Indicator to the 5020?
as far as I can tell and the only difference I see is that the 5020 would need a pair of wires run from J301 and J302 to J663 and J662 (respectively) and then a set of leads from P600 points 5 & 6 to an LED. and then to remove some of the black covering the plexi front the meters are shown through so that the LED could be seen.
Is this correct, or would there be more to be done?
