Marantz 6100 Motor Repair or Replacement

Has anyone swapped out their motor. USA model. If so, with what? I'm trying to salvage my original but the more I play around with it the worse it gets. Things are very brittle and break. I want to pull it apart and clean it but I can't get the set screw off to separate it completely. It works 50 percent of the time if I move the spindle around. I lube it and its getting rediculas. My next phase may be to de-solder the wires and put it on the bench drill press to extract the set screw so I can take it apart fully. Any advise?

There is a motor on the auction site right now that they are pretty proud of. The best place for vintage TT parts is organdonorparts.com. I didn’t find a 6100 motor listed, but you can e-mail them, and they might be able to help you.

I did find that site but didn’t see any motors for the 6100. I was hoping someone has found an aftermarket alternative.

I wonder what the original motor rpm is at. I may be able to find a motor at a close to rpm and wire in a variable speed controller.
