So in repairing a recently purchased Marantz 6110, I had to figure out a solution for the rubber feet as they wear out and deteriorate after decades of existence. In searching for a solution I read up on several suggestions but thought I could come up with something better. This is what I came up with.
1. Find four 11/16ths by 15/16ths rubber stoppers in Home Depot's "fasteners"aisle.
2. Cut the stopper 1/3rd or 40% up from the bottom (wider end). I used a sharp kitchen knife.
3. Drill a small hole in the center of your stopper.
4. Slide the rubber stopper into your rubber foot until the top of the stopper in flush with the remaining inner part of the foot. You might apply a glue or rubber cement for a more permanent bond. I didn't.
5. Screw a #6 (1-1/4") machine screw up into the hole in your rubber stopper using the original washers. The original screws will not work as the stopper adds a 1/2" or so to the length needed to screw into the original holes for the feet.
6. Repeat to the remainder of the damaged feet.
7. Screw feet into existing holes and you're done!
That's it. Hope it works for others. It's a tight fit and works very well as a clean and adequate solution for these decades old feet.
