Marantz 6200 help

Anyone familiar with a Marantz 6200 or similar that uses this kind of auto-return mechanism? My auto-in and auto-return are both pretty far off. I can get each function somewhat close following the steps in the service manual, but then it makes the other function even worse. The manual instructions are not great and I feel like I'm just beating my head against a wall at this point. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.

Check the position of the record size (7-10-12) switch down below, as well as the "play-manual-repeat" switch down below and make sure the linkages are connected (pic 1). Turn the "landing adjustment" screw all the way one way, then back the other and count the number of turns lock to lock, then reset it to the center of the range. then put a 12" album on and set it to land the stylus where you want it- clockwise moves the arm toward the spindle, CCW moves it further away.

Thanks for the tips. Here is what I've tried so far. I was able to determine that the red circle is the "landing adjustment" screw. Turning this moves the location of the fulcrum adjacent to it forward and backward within a slot in what the manual calls the "eccentric shaft". The first confusing point is that I can get it to move forward and backward by continuously turning in either the CW or CCW direction. Both extreme ends of the slot still result in the stylus landing being well inside the first groove of the record.

I then went to part B of that section, which instructs to loosen the screws circled in green and in "PLAY" mode with the record size selector set to "12". It then says to manually rotate the table to the end of the lead-in and position the stylus to the desired landing spot and re-tighten the screws. I'm not sure how to know where this position is from the underside. Maybe I'm supposed to prop it up and manually move the tonearm and then somehow hold it there while I tighten the screws again? Possible with an assistant or three hands I suppose.

The other very confusing point is regarding the auto-return position. The manual says to rotate the screw circled in blue either CW or CCW to hasten or delay the return. Turning this seems to also affect my stylus landing position, so if I get close on the lead-in and try to adjust the auto-return, the lead-in gets messed up again. This combination has me spinning my wheels.

Do you happen to have a distance between the two tabs adjusted by the screw circled in blue? This might help to at least know where this is supposed to be.

You have to set the table up on blocks to work on the underside while moving the tonearm on top -I use hard foam "Yoga" blocks that are about 4" high (get four and stack them so you can get the table 8" high). Your screw outlined in blue looks to be a bit too tight compared to where where mine is.
