Marantz 7Tr

I just purchased a 7Tr rack mount pre amplifier and it's missing the rack handles. Were these available separately or were they included with the 7Tr? If they were sold separately, does anyone know the model or part number for the handles?

I will post pictures when the unit arrives :thmbsp:

The handles were part of the optional Rack-mount faceplate for the 7T - yet they are detachable from the faceplate (hence the mounting holes). Dunno if they had a separate "parts number". I just looked it up in the original Servicemanual and it doesn't mention anything about it in the parts list.

The fact that they are missing, is .....a fact - and errrrrr..

Better be on the lookout for a looong time for a nice set of original handles - the correct type is probably close to unobtainia, but you can never know.

Best regards

Thanks for the reply. So was the rack mount face plate an optional extra item that would have been installed by the dealer when the preamp was purchased, instead of coming from the factory that way?

The rack faceplate was an option and came with polished nickle handles,,,some where i have some extra handles,, but finished in the light champane marantz color,,,Digging through my man cave storage can take another day or two....

Wow, very cool. If you find them let me know :tresbon:

I love the 7T..... craftsmanship is tops.....

I'm really looking forward to the 7T showing up. I wasn't looking for a rack mount in particular, but this unit appears to be very very clean inside and the price was right. I need it for use with a model 15 amplifier I got a few months ago. When I have both units side-by-side I'll post pictures. Since the rack mount faceplate was an optional extra, I'll be looking for a standard face plate to use with this unit.

A 7t standard faceplate will be hard to find,,But the standard mod. 7 is almost the same,,Tha only difference will be on the SELECTOR lableing the mention of Tape Nab,,,but faceplate is the same,,,You can get the faceplate NEW from CLASSIC AUDIO REPRODUCTIONS,,,, Still havnt found the rack handles,,sorry

That is not true - the model 7 faceplate and the model 7T faceplates are very different in detail.

Besides what has allready been written - the model 7 is missing the three jack-insert receptor holes plus the writing for these at the bottom part of the faceplate.

Yes, it seems that there are many differences between the 7 and 7T faceplates. I don't mind have 1 more item to search for every day :thmbsp:
