Marantz and Marantz?

I have a 1060 Integrated and a 2275 receiver. The 1060 amp section is dead. I've used the pre-amp section a couple times, and it sounds great.

When I powered up the 2275, one channel was out. I hit the tape monitor button a couple times, and it sprang to life. A few bulbs out also.

A couple weeks ago, I turned 68. Do I get off my fat lazy ass and fix them? Or should I sell them as-is to a younger person who will give them the TLC that they deserve? (The 2275 has the wooden case with many scratches.)

Restore the 2275.

Sell the 1060.

Agreed. Deoxit, replace lamps (not terribly difficult) and Walnut Howard's Restore-A-Finish on case. I would do these and then decide if I want to sell it. Will likely continue to rise in value with the Marantz tax.

I'm starting to see a lot of issues with my equipment that can be fixed with DeOxit lately, just like the Tape Monitor Switch issue, after 40+ years the switches are starting to really corrode at a faster pace.

I love Marantz and have only traded off one ultra-rare unit to someone who hooked me up with some kind-of rare European Equipment. If you don't have the passion for the brand I'd get rid of both and you'll find all kinds of other brands that should work fine. Personally for me the hunt is as fun as cranking music and you should find a plethora of awesome components for your new-found wealth.

I do like Marantz, but I've got too much stuff. I really need to thin the herd. And let this stuff find a new home.

I have come across a dozen Marantz pieces and kept a few after years of experimenting and restoring all of them, not because I like the sound, but just because they're classic and I love their looks.
Now the 250 power amp is a different story - I've been using it for years for its amazing sound.

There are a few specific vintage pieces that I just cannot understand their high price tags such as JBL L100, Pioneer CS99a, Sansui 9090, and etc.
I've taken advantage and sold them all to fund my projects. You may want to do the same if Marantz sound is not your thing.
