Morning all,
My Marantz DR6000 CD player\recorder started skipping badly around a year ago. Despite extensive cleaning, the problem got worse and worse until nearly every CD was affected.
As it's one of the rarer champagne silver versions which matches some of my other Marantz kit, instead of binning it, I boxed it up in the hope that the used parts fairy would turn something up in the fullness of time.
Well that time came last week when I found someone was scrapping a Philips CDR775 due to a blown power supply. I had read somewhere that the writer drives in these were compatible with the Marantz so took a chance and bought it.
The point of this post is to confirm that the Philips CDR775 drive is a straight swap into the DR6000 and they seem to pop up for spares reasonably regularly, at least here in the UK.
