Marantz integrated/tuner combo or receiver? Help

I’m hunting for a nice Marantz set up for my main system. I started my search with integrateds, thinking they would be the best bang for the buck. After some further discussions with other members on this site I’m strongly considering moving my search from a 1200, 1200b, 1250 integrated/120 or 150 tuner combo to a Marantz 2285, 2285b, 2275, or 2325 receiver. I can’t afford separates.
I’d really appreciate your opinions here. I currently have a Marantz 2230 and a Sansui AU 9500(80watts?) integrated. The 2230 sounds great and has a full sound that I like but the Sansui has a MUCH stronger bass punch that I prefer. I’m hoping to find a Marantz that is the best of both worlds and even surpasses the bass in the Sansui. I want to be able to impress my wife with great bass without sacrificing the rest of the sound quality. Admittedly I just think the scopes look cool on the tuners and assumed that an integrated would be superior to a receiver, but I’m being informed by people with much more experience than me that there are Marantz receivers that will sound better than the integrated combos I’ve been hunting. I realize that “better” is subjective but I can’t A/B any of these units myself and would much appreciate help deciding from people that have experience comparing these. I’m currently using fully restored original large advents in a room that is about 13’ x 17’. There’s a very good chance I’ll try different speakers and possibly move in the future. I want to invest in a lifetime unit/combo. Please help me decide here.

You can't go wrong with any of the mentioned receivers. I have a 2275 and 2325 from that group and both pump out my classic rock with ease. I have heard nothing but good things about the 2285/2285B, but haven't heard them myself. I'm not sure that I believe that either separates or receivers are superior to the other. I just haven't heard a bad sounding Marantz system when it was operating properly.

The speakers are your limiting factor in bass. However I'm a big fan of the 2325. If you can't get bass out of that then it's not the receiver!!!

However if you have the extra cash then DO go for a 2285/b. One HELL of a nice receiver.

I have had, or have all but the 2285b. All were updated by me and I can say the 2285 has a more updated modern sound, slightly brighter than the older 2325 or 2275. But the 2325 has the classic Marantz warm sound in spades and it will flat out crack the plaster if needed.

Again this is my opinion and because sound is such a personal thing you would need to listen for yourself. If the units are updated they will sound even better.

All of these models are beautifully made and easy to work on with the possible exception of the 2285b. It is trickier due to Marantz combining both amps on one board if I am not mistaken.

Do you have a line on all these?

I have a line on several 1200’s and a 1200b, but no receivers yet. If I go the receiver route I’ll be looking for a restored unit.

A properly restored 1200 is one HELL of a nice piece!!!

I would say the 1200 is a big step up from a receiver.

Can you elaborate on that?
One of the major things is separate power supplies and isolated boards. Very few receivers have separate power supplies for the amp, pre-amp and tuner and some power amps have separate power supplies for each channel, makes for cleaner, more even power at high loads. My favorite of my systems is an SM-7 power amp (150+ per channel), 3250B pre-amp (variable loudness control) and 150 tuner (scope, quad inputs). good luck Rich
