Marantz, McIntosh, Tannoy and Thorens find of a lifetime

Sweet, dude!! That would have been a hell of a deal at 100 times that price! Given that I've got a few extra pairs, I'd try to see if I could fit LC-1s in that cabinet and sell the Tannoys to cover the cost of parts (and labor if you don't tackle it) for the two Marantz pieces and the MR-65B. But, that's just me, what are your plans? Very nice find!

That is one helluva console dont think ive ever seen one decked out that nice before, ive seen the 7 and 8 combo before but the Tannoys and Thorens is just icing on the cake WOW. you think that is all custom or did they sell them that way? sure beats the hell out of the Motorola console we had when i was young.

Planning on keeping all the components and having them all serviced!

Yeah the console is definitely all custom. From what I’ve found this brand of console was owned and outfitted with Fisher products originally. The cutouts in the walnut while I was disassembling also we’re not perfectly straight and was probably cut by a jigsaw back in the day to fit the new components.

What a great find! It would be hard to top that score for a single unit. Congratulations! I like to see others rescue great equipment. Enjoy!!

I know what you're saying, BUT, when you find stuff THAT good in a console, you're not "rescuing" anything, you're scoring, BIG TIME! Way to go and good for you to try it all together first, like you found them. What fun!!

hell of a find. i found that same console at an estate sale with jbl d130’s, and a scott 299c, lt-110, a sony rtr, and an old garrard rc88.. i gave away the equipment case (kept the equipment!), and kept the speakers. i have to build some 12” spacer baffles for them to fit some coaxial i want to use. yours is a miracle find, though.

As stated earlier, gems like this are still in the undiscovered wild. We all need to stay on the lookout to prevent them from occupying landfills. And congrats to the OP for this most excellent save.
