Marantz model 112 tuner

I bought a Marantz model 112 tuner on the cheap about 5 years ago. The caps in the power supply had been replaced along with a few others. It had been just sitting on a shelf until a few months ago. I decided to try it out. I have to say, for one of the small form Marantz tuners it sounds nice and locks onto stations well with no drift. Im using an outdoor omni antenna and it picks up plenty of stations and is very quiet.
I didn't expect it to perform as well as it does. I've had other Marantz tuners like a model 120, 115, 105, etc.
I have a couple other brand tuners, but this one may stay in my system for awhile. Does anyone else use this tuner, or had one at one time? If so, what do you think of it?

Never a 112 but just wanted to share a similar experience with another one of Marantz's lower end tuners... a 115b.

I bought a couple 'mint' higher end tuners from a friend. He mentioned he had a Marantz 115b also. I was going to pass but asked about it's condition. He said it was actually more mint than the others plus had an original wood cabinet... can't resist a pretty face. Bought it and, like you, was real surprised how well it performed.

Congrats on your find.

I had a model 115. It did sound nice. The adjustable muting was a nice feature. The 115B if I remember right, was a little more sensitive. Mine came with the cabinet also.
I sold the tuner, but kept the cabinet. I also bought a nice 120 with a nice bright scope. The tuning needle was broken and I got it cheap. I put the cabinet on it and gave it to my son. He still uses it. Now that I have my antenna setup better, I'm getting just a faint hiss when I get close to the speaker.
