Marantz Model 18 - How to clean?

Guys,

I'm new to the forum so please feel free to lay into me if I'm doing anything wrong!

I'd purchased a Marantz Model 18 from a friend's dad (original owner) before I went to college in 73. I had it all through Undergrad / Grad School and then gave it to my little sister for her to take to college.

And of course, real life ensued and I eventually forgot about ever owning it.

So, flash foward 39 years...and a very large well packed box shows up on my doorstep. Damn if it isn't my old receiver that had been stored away by my sister for years.

It's rather dusty inside but, the darn thing is totally operational...O-Scope still functional etc. Serial number is 18-2443, unit is Woodside NY marked.

The exterior looks almost new (I never had the wooden case for it) but I'd really like to give it a gentle cleaning inside.

How do you recommend I proceed?

Thanks in advance for your expertise!

John

If it's just dust use a compressor and blow gun. Whatever you do , do not and try and clean the dial glass on the inside by trying to spray and wipe it- you will ruin the dial glass lettering.
