Marantz model 32 rack mount????

Is the model 32 designed for rack mounting?
Are any of the older Marantz equipment designed for rack mounting? I don't understand what the screws are for on the faceplate if they are not meant to be rack mounted. I can find no information in regards to Rack mounting the model 32 or any of the other similar amplifiers

The holes were used with Phillips head wood screws to fasten it into the wood case.

You're talking about the walnut veneered outer casing that had a model number like WC-22 or something.... right?

Post a photo of the faceplate so we can see which screws you're talking about please. The wood cases are held on by the feet not the faceplate. Never heard of a Marantz that was set up for rack mounting from the factory.

Theres 4 cap screws and 4 screw holes near each of the four corners

Those are definitely not for rack mounting, they would never hold the weight. Standard width for a rack is 19", that Marantz is only 15 3/8". HiFi Engine doesn't mention or show it with a wooden case either. It's 21 lbs, 60 watts per channel and will drive from 4 to 16 ohm speakers. If you wanted to build a case for it you could put screws in those holes for decorative purposes.

FWIW on some models Marantz used to make separate front panels for rack mounting. I know there were rack mount front panels for the 250 and the 20b, Don't know about the 32 - guessing no.
Looking through old catalogs at hifiengine - 1968 catalogue has rackmount panels for the 7t,15, 9, and 10B towards the end https://www.hifiengine.com/manual_library/marantz/sound-of-marantz.shtml

As I explained it in my first post ,yes they are for holding it into a WC2 wood case.

Here is a all original 250 amp I bought about 8 years ago in it's factory installed WC2 wood case.

Clearly evident are the Phillips wood screws holding it in.






Here is another WC2 case that had a 240 amp in it.
Clearly evident are the screw holes in the wood side rails made by the Phillips head faceplate screws.



Also if you go on the Marantz Legendary Classics site they have a pic of a 250 amp in it's WC2 wood case showing the Phillips head screws in the faceplate.
