Marantz PM68 or PM 7000?? V NAD 1020/2140

Hi, Is there any reason (soundwise) to pick a Marantz PM 68 over a PM 7000 or vice versa?? I realize they are almost the same thing in fact some of the boards in the 7000 say PM 68 on them. The PM 7000 replaced the 68 but sold for $50 less.
Would either of these hold up to the classic NAD 1020 pre and 2140 power, ignoring the remote factor. Thanks
