Here we go again…i’m being offered a Marantz 300dc power amp. It lights up but has no sound. Has anyone experienced this with this particular model or any other Marantz models? The 300dc seems to be selling for $2500-3000 based on hifi shark. Seller is asking me to make an offer, but I have no clue if this issue is even fixable. How much should I offer if ever? You guys think this could be fixed fairly easily by a competent tech?

I would probably offer $500 for it, expecting a rejection. Who knows what could be wrong? Almost anything can be fixed with the possible exception of a bad transformer -- not likely the problem. But a "no sound" unit is not worth anything remotely close to the price of a properly functioning unit. I expect the seller would disagree.
That means it's broke! Seriously, about anything is repairable. Could be a simple fix, could be semi-toast inside. You won't know until you or someone proficient gets into it, which rather makes valuing it a bit difficult. Ya want to gamble, make a lowball offer & negotiate from there. Ymmv, most that happens is you may get laughed at. Then again, you may get an easy-fix project for a deal.
