I own a restored Marantz 2252 that I love. It's powered on nearly every day for hours on end. Recently the power switch was giving me some issues. I cleaned it, and that worked for awhile. However, the other day it died completely so I reached out to AK member DGWOJO for a replacement switch. Thank you Dave because that switch was here in 2 days flat!
I knew the replacement switch shaft was square (the original is a flat piece of metal) where the button would attach but I needed power and figured I would cross that bridge when I got the new switch installed.
Once installed the shaft on the switch is also shorter, so that presented another problem. I decided to go look in the garage and try and figure something out among my non-working electronics when I spotted this Marantz Model 5000 Cassette Deck staring at me from the shelves.
Bingo!
I pulled off a button and hurried inside to check the fit against the new power switch. Not only did it fit the square shaft, it was also a bit longer. (Marantz 2252 power switch on left, Model 5000 on right)
And here it is installed.
I hope this can help some else out there in AK land. Thanks again Dave for the speedy delivery of the new switch. I am listening to Casy Kasem Top 40 countdown this morning, drinking some coffee while writing this post.
