Marantz receiver or Sansui integrated as preamp

I'm patiently waiting for the right preamp to land in my lap.

Until then, I have a few options to use. These pieces have pre out / main in jacks so could be used as preamps only...

Marantz receivers;
2250B
2252B
2270

Sansui integrateds;
AU-5900
AU-6600

or perhaps even a Marantz 1122DC integrated

Any opinion on which one may be the best choice?:scratch2:

I don't think you have a bad choice among the options you listed. I often use my AU 7900 as a preamp with nice results. The Marantz options would also likely produce good results. Any chance you could swap out a few of them to hear firsthand any differences?

I'd be able to swap any one of them out really.

I just was wondering if anyone would pick one of them in particular as having a sweet preamp section. I value the opinions offered up here.

It's signal will be fed through an active crossover and split between a Dynaco ST-35 and a Kenwood Basic M2.

I will be using a Thorens TD-160 with the set-up so a good phono section is part of the picture.

Bump. Very interesting question.

I also wonder in pre-amp section of Marantz receivers like 2250B and 2252B, also 1060 integrated, and also Sansui 2000X receiver.

What would be the best choice to use as pre-amp with ST-70?
