Marantz SP 1812 Speakers

I have acquired a set of Marantz SP 1812 floor stand speakers. The speaker boxes were somewhat in, let's say, less than new condition! Speakers themselves are just fine and sound great. Do Marantz Speakers have much of a following in the Speaker realm of all the thousands of other offerings out there? If anyone has a set of the SP 1812's, let me know what the strengths are you hear in yours. It is my assumption the speakers do not have the following as do the Amps and receivers.

Your assumption is correct. There were some speaker series' that were pretty well liked. HDxx and HDXXX were a couple. But for the most part the electronics was their strong suit.
But that's true for many companies, Pioneer is another one. Kenwood as well. Good electronics, not so good speakers for the most part.
Their (Marantz) vintage electronics are well respected. They had a period (80's through 2000's?) where their gear, both electronics and speakers was not so well regarded.
The last decade or so they returned to making respectable gear.
