Hi Dennis, That is a cool combination - a low end Marantz with a speakerlab bookshelf speaker. But $400? I don't think so. I think this is a repeat listing - I think I've seen that 2216 listed before. They refer to bookshelf speakers so those are probably Speakerlab 1's which are great efficient little 2-way speakers. I think they have every bit as much going for them as the Small Advents from that era. There is a pair listed on Seattle CL right now for $25 and they can often be found for < $75.
There's another Marantz on the list - a 2275 with the original box - that looks nice but again it's somewhat pricey. <no affiliation> http://seattle.craigslist.org/see/ele/478661901.html

I'd try and get that Marantz SpeakerlabFan. Offer him $150.00 and see if he takes it. Those Marantz units are good as gold!:yes: Brad

That's a very nice "little" receiver, but the price is too high. [Can't comment on the speakers, never having had them.] Agreed that you should try for something more reasonable, like $150. You might explain that you are interested, but you think the price is over-optimistic. Refer him to a few of the lower-priced listings/auction sales to show him that his price is a little high, and make your offer. Make sure you leave him your contact number. If the thing isn't selling at his asking price after a while, he may be willing to let it go more cheaply.

I think the price for that 2275 with the wood case and original box is a pretty good price.Those go for 3-400 on ebay,and thats without shipping.

The 2275 is a bargain. It one of the best sounding Marantz.
