Marketplace Misses - One's that got away

Two big misses today. A 730 twin went for $150, and a Sansui G-7700 went for free!

I was slow on the draw with the Harman Kardon, as it had already been listed for 12 hours before I saw it. So fair play for whomever scored it.

But the Sansui? That ad was up for all of 10 mins before I sent a message.

So I'm either having a streak of bad luck, or there are people in Metro Detroit obsessively refreshing Marketplace for vintage HiFi deals.

Edit: I hope one of you got them!

Dynaudios Contour 1.3 or something for 50 bucks.

A Mac 1700 in a stack of mediocre bpc for 200.

ADS L1290s in walnut along with a bunch of other gear for 200. I later bought those same ADS from the guy who flipped them for 700 ;_;

Probably 30 years ago, I missed out on a pair of Acoustat 2+2's for $40. I was first in line, but someone got there in front of me and scooped 'em up.

I *just* missed a pair of Devore Fidelity O93s at the flea market for $200. I walked by them, not seeing them, when I turned to walk back a couple minutes later, a guy was handing over money...

The problem with Facebook marketplace (well there's many problems) is it intentionally starts showing ads that get more clicks to an even wider audience. So if someone posts a deal they are going to be inundated immediately, to the point that Facebook itself will tell you 'hey this guy's getting a lot of responses and might not respond!'

Interesting. I've never used it to sell anything, only as a buyer.
