I have been considering buying some Martin Logan speakers to check them out. A local seller has a pair of Aerius (1st version w passive crossover) that he says are in excellent shape cosmetically & functionally. The asking price is $700 for the pair. Does the price seem about right? Anyone with Aerius 1 experience and opinions? Thanks!

4 pairs show up on ebay completed listings from 750 to 1300, so 700 sounds pretty good if they're in good shape.

These are not known to age well, and may need repairs. Make sure to test out thoroughly before buying. Also, Google around on how to repair them - it makes for some interesting reading.

Worth mentioning MartinLogan raised the prices of their replacement panels and the Aerius I are pretty old. Supposedly the panels last around 15 years or so. Just some things to consider.
