Martin Speakers

Picked up a pair of Martin 120 super-max speakers at a yardsale for $8. Took them home cleaned them up then hooked a jvc av reciever up to them, sound was ok nothing special. I then hooked them up to a kenwood ka 5500 I recently bought, wow, what a surprise! They are very detailed. It seems the more power you give them the better they sound. Anyone have any experience with these?

It's likely a Kenwood KA-5500 simply sounds better than a JVC AV receiver.

Garbage in, garbage out. The better the ancillaries, the better a speaker will sound.
