Maryland hold off Boston College: 24-21

Surprise!?
Surprise!?

After stumbling badly, to a 2-10 record last year.
Maryland football has, so far, turned things around to the tune of 5-2 this season.
Now I'm NOT gonna claim that the Fridge has kept his coaching career going?
Boston College isn't close to a top 25 football team.
And wins against Duke, Morgan State, & Florida International don't impress anyone, IMO.
Maryland does NOT have a running game to speak of, and a mediocre Clemson team clean their clock pretty good (31-7).
Still, holding off Boston College, at Boston, isn't too shabby?

Unfortunately, BC is just about as bad this year as the other teams UMD beat. Look at their last few games (they're now 0-4 in the ACC):

09/25/10 vs. Virginia Tech L, 19-0
10/02/10 vs. Notre Dame L, 31-13
10/09/10 at North Carolina State L, 44-17
10/16/10 at Florida State L, 24-19

That said, I wish the Terps continued good fortune this year (unless and until they meet the Hokies in the ACC championship (which I doubt will happen).

The Fridge's problem isn't coaching, per se, it's recruiting. Most of the good players from around here go to VT or Penn State.
