With my Paradigm 90p-v.3 speakers and sources the system sounds pretty good.I was aiming for a C-2300 but a boat I had for sale did not sell.I am using my Technics SU-9070 as phono-stage + all sources into direct in on Sfl-1.

I bet! Sounds like a great combo. One day I hope to try the 252 with my C220 (and some other speakers ...). We'll see what the future brings.

Thanks Rick58.I remember Ron-C saying the 252 is a "sleeper".I would not be suprised if they were saught-after in the future if they were discontinued.I think that amp is most exellent!!

The MC252 Rocks!

I've owned both the MC7270 and MC252. The MC252 is the better sounding amp and has at least as much punch as the older autoformer amps in the 250 - 300 W/ch power range.
It would take a very hot deal on a pair of much bigger Mc amps to tempt me away from my MC252. Even then it's probably not worth it. I'll stick with my C45 pre as well.

I was sick a few months ago - saw one at ~$200 BELOW the usual price on A'gon, and it was in my city! Of course, it was already sold (on the first day). Oh well, I didn't really have the money laying around, but if it was still available would have tried to come up with it somehow!

I figure the MC252 can drive about any reasonable speaker out there ... and I bet it sounds great with the C45 as well as a tube pre. Both of you - enjoy !!! :music:

PS: I bet the 252 sounds great with the SF tube pre ... but maybe one day a C2300 would be a good upgrade (for both of us!). I think I will always want tubes in there somewhere.
