MC-40's

Hi All,

I have just acquired a pair of MC-40 Mono blocks that appear to be in good shape. Any idea of the value of these? Also, any suggestions in the Dallas area of a service center to have them inspected and if required worked on?

Other members here have reported that Fort Worth Audio is a good place for servicing vintage Mc gear.

Very desirable, but so much depends on condition (vs museum quality). If in excellent condition with no visual blemishes, McIntosh or other excellent old-stock tubes, and properly restored matched set would be the top value, haven't checked sold prices recently but I'd guess $5,000, anything not perfect (especially cosmetics but also new tubes and mis-matched or needing to be gone through electronically) can draw that down to $2,000 or less.

Thanks for the info. I think it’s best to have them inspected by a pro. They look great but I haven’t heard them yet. The tubes are from Yugoslavia. Other than that I don’t have much info.
