MC-75 Tune up and test video, OFS

I ran across this Youtube channel while doing some research, apparently this shop is located in El Paso (TX?).

While still pondering my first multi-meter purchase, I marvel at his test set-up highly educational.

One of his DIY projects I enjoyed is a 1,300W tube amp, more power!

Enjoy!

In the way of a visual...

He's very thorough. I saw his video on his personal MC275 a while ago. Well worth a watch if you haven't seen it already.

THIS is why McIntosh is an investment. 50+ year old equipment meeting spec.

I've been watching his videos for approx 2 hours now. I can watch a master craftsman all day long and marvel.

I liked the KT-88 autopsy

Cool-o. What is the load during these tests ? Purely resistive, or something closer to a speaker, or a speaker ?

I watched hi for a couple of hours the other day.

He has a high end resistor load that he uses, that he may be replacing with twin water heater elements that maintain their resistance at all temps and using two stacked paint cans filled with water as the radiator since his current resistors get red hot when stress testing amps at 200WRMS for long periods.

You can see it in his last couple of videos he has posted.

A true master craftsman. He mentions in one of the vids that he is x-mil tech and x-nasa tech.
