MC152 Light leaking

Wondering if anyone might be able to verify something for me, I have a new MC152 power amp, and noticed that when my room is dark, and I turn the blue meter lights off, it appears the green light that illuminates the Macintosh emblem is leaking into the right side meter. The left side is completely dark, so I’m wondering if this is intentional/expected or a sign that something might have come loose or a seal is not in place. Anyone out there who owns one and could turn off both their room lights and meter lights and see if the left and right meters are equally dark?

I know this might sound nit-picky but I’m really just trying to see if this might indicate something is amiss, if this is the way it is I have no problem with it. Thanks!

There's usually some self-adhesive light-insulating foam tape that's applied to keep the various light where it belongs, maybe your unit has an issue where it fell off or was misaligned. You'd have to pull the glass to take a look.

Thanks for the reply! That sounds about right, and the more I look into it it does seem like this is not how it’s supposed to be. This is my first item from McIntosh so I don’t really have anything to compare it to, but I kinda figured “lights off” means just that. Here’s a pic, pretty blurry because of the long exposure but it shows the discrepancy pretty well.

I, too, have the same issue right out of the box. Going to contact McIntosh since this is brand new. I’ll update as I get more information.

Here’s mine:
