Thanks Mackie 1975 ..I just ordered some from Comet Pinball. Will advise on my mileage sometime in July. Leaving town in two weeks and won't be able to install and comment on these until after July 1st.

Is there a brand name on the bulbs McIntosh sent you?
The bulbs I ordered were
CEC Industries 1866 T3 1/4 M Bay 6.3V .25A .65Cp
they seemed to work OK but I would order another brand for spares if I knew what manufacturer that McIntosh used.

Feedback for Mackie1975 and anyone else following this conversation:
I ordered three types of LED bulbs from Comet Pinball: 4SMD (stubbing shape, with no "lens") in both Warm White and Blue and also 2SMD Warm White Clear lens. I planned to use the 2SMD's for the glass panel lettering and the 4SMDs for the meters.
But Comet Pinball screwed up this order; they did send both the Warm White and Blue 4SMDs, but instead of 2SMD Warm White they sent Red!
Before returning the entire order I tested the 4SMD bulbs behind the meters. Both the Warm White and Blue bulbs showed strong evidence of "shadowing" in the upper 20% of the meter face. Not too surprising, the 4SMD's lack light diffusing capability. For me, this was a non-starter. The "color" of the warm white was OK, but the Blue was "in-your-face" .... too much Blue.
So I contacted Comet Pinball (no telephone, email only) and arranged to return the first shipment and got it replaced with all the same type bulbs: 2SMD bayonet base, Warm White with FROSTED lenses. Just received these today. Being concerned about another possible wrong item shipped, I installed these behind the meters.
THEY WORKED GREAT!!!
I am leaving on my extended trip soon, so I did not attempt to install any bulbs for the glass panel lettering; this would have necessitated me wrestling with these very heavy amps again. I will try the bulbs behind the glass panel in July. However, I fully expect the Frosted Warm White bulb to work great in this role too. Other than being considerable brighter than the original #1866 incandescent bulbs, the frosted version will provide well diffused light behind the panel and the meters.
Bottom line: I highly recommend these Warm White LEDs with Frosted lenses as an MC2205 "upgrade".

The bulb socket on the meter can be moved up and down or left and right.

Mackie1975 .. Thanks for you help on this. Sorry about our confusion. I should have paid attention to the thread title which clearly states MC2105. I own MC2205s, not MC2105s. The MC2205 meter housing does not allow for any lamp motion, in any direction. Here are some pictures showing the meter housing with bulbs snapped in, both original and LED bulbs unsnapped from housing, old and new LED bulbs side-by-side and one meter now illuminated with LED bulbs (four bulbs per meter).

Revisiting an old thread here. I just purchased a one owner MC2105 which works fine and sounds wonderful.
The only thing I noticed that would require attention is that the "Red" power indicator above the McIntosh printing is burnt out and not lighting.
My question is the replacement bulb for the "red indicator" the same as the lamps for “wording” #1866 which are the 058-014?

Folks, I am the proud new owner of a MC2105. The unit was recently serviced, but I noticed that when I turn it on, the meter illuminate a dim greenish blue instead of bright blue. I understand that the meters should use different bulbs than the other panel lamps. Is there a possibility that these meter bulbs were replaced with panel bulbs? Thanks in advance.
Quite possible someone replaced the meter bulbs with green LEDs, hard to tell without pulling the glass.
Thanks. I don't like ripping stuff apart, but I assume that removing the glass involves removing the knobs and the panel end pieces (two screws each side), pushing in those two buttons removes the glass?
It has been a long time for me since my 2105, but IIRC you remove all knobs, both end-caps, and the top & bottom rails. Be careful to not damage the paint on the back of the glass and that the diffuser doesn’t get damaged.
If it has a hack LED conversion the diffuser can be missing (not likely if your legends all light up uniformly), and the gels on the meter might be missing.
