MC2125, MC2205, C32 Logos

When I first got my MC2125 a few weeks ago I noticed that the Mac logo does not light up. I initially thought that a bulb might be out but after looking at many pics online I saw that it is not supposed to light up.

It seems that there are only three glass faced Macs that lack lit logos: the MC2125, MC2205, and the C32 and all three of them were released around the same time.

I am curious if anybody knows weather the lack of a lighted logo was a conscious design decision or there was some other reason for it.

When I got my 2205 (back when) I noticed the dark "McIntosh" logo. The 2105 and 2505 (smaller brother) I had before it were lit but dark is correct with the 2205 and 2125 (smaller brother). Rumor was, Mr McIntosh was not happy with that and the next generation of 2255 and 2155 (smaller brother) were back to being lit up. Same with the C32 (matching pre for the 2205), the next generation C33 (matching pre for the 2255) was lit up.

I was pretty sure it was a design choice based on the fact that every aspect of the Macs are so well thought out.

Its too bad there's no tuner with a dark logo that way it would be possible to have a completely matching system.
