MC601 - New speaker terminals

I've been waiting and waiting and finally the MC601 have arrived. But whats up with the new speaker termnals? They seem to be unable to be attached to a decent banana plug. I've tried three different cables and none of them would fit the terminals on the MC601. The simply wont fit and I don't want to brute force them in. This is not how I want to experience the MC601s, ie being quite pi**ed.
I had no problems with MC402 or MC602 terminals. Status now is that I have a par of MC601 I can't use since I can attach the speakers.

They MC601s are close to be returned to the dealer. Blah.

There were no problems with my locking banana terminal.

Banana size

Maybe the size of the standard banaplug is different in the US and europe? They're just o big to fit in the hole on the top.

I live in Sweden and had no problems with my Audioquest bananas. Sure you have to squeeze some, but not that much.

Probably a dumb question, but could the locking ring be tightened already? I have this vague recollection that on some models the bananas lock using the top ring and the middle ring locks the clamp, and on others, the bananas lock using the middle ring, etc. Never seen the 601s, but I read that they're a new design.

Sorry if this is all too obvious and you've already tried loosening both.

Yes, I tried loosening both but it all comes down to the fact that the hole is just not big enough to fit my Furutech bananas. I found some cheap $1 plugs and they fit.
To solve the problem I made a small converter to fit the Furutech bananas to the MC601s. Not a perfect solution but I can live with it.

McIntosh claims on their webpage that: "Newly designed speaker wire binding posts allow the best connection to all types of speaker wire terminations."

I liked the old speaker terminals. The new ones does the opposite of the above sentence.

Now I should spend time to listen to the MC601s and see if they fit my ear. The do fit my eyes, those meters are just pure pleasure to look at.
