MC7150 Shipping Box Question

I have a MC7150 box and need to know what are my options on what to do with it? I sent my MC7150 wide to Audio Classics for repair (classic Mac owner mistake -- ordering a used item and NOT demanding it be shipped in the McIntosh box -- let's say the glass was decimated...) and it has been returned recently and is working EXCELLENTLY with my C712/MR7084/MCD7009/MB20/Technics 1200g setup !

I currently live in a smaller space, and don't have any intention of using this box in the foreseeable future.

How can I get this box to someone who wants it? I don't want to trash it, given it's build quality (it's the McIntosh official shipping box for the MC7150 with the screws and wood floor, etc.).

Is there a process for getting these boxes to those who would want it?

You can sell this on eBay if you want. It’s worth between $50 - $100. Otherwise keeping it adds value to your component. Also if you ever need to have it serviced again you’ll need the double box. The classic new Mac owners mistake it getting rid of the box.
 
Never get rid of a Mcintosh box. Though I will say the boxes Audio Classics sells are rated twice as strong and have a higher puncture rating, also. In fact most of the time when I have components repaired by them I have them double box the units so the factory box doesn't get damaged. I had them do that with my MC 830's because they shipped during snow season a few years ago. MY MC 207 was double boxed after I took it to them for repairs. That was a challenge for sure. I forgot to have them double box my new to me pre-owned mcd 550 and the unit had been dropped the face plate cracked and the disc chassis bent back wards. They sent me another one the same day I called about the damaged one and they double boxed it for me. no charge. Usually if you buy a new unit they will double box it for you if you ask.

I bought a factory box from McIntosh era 2006 for one of my amps...It cost me $50 at that time. Like a work of art, the carton fullfilled it's needs. Oft times thought of selling it but, such a value thinking back....

Fun thing shipping Mcintosh in other than McIntosh/ or Audio Classics Packaging.... NOT

First - I totally agree - do NOT give up your McIntosh boxes.
The only exception would be if you live in a VERY humid environment. I live on the Gulf of Mexico, where the humidity can often be 70%. In this environment even a McIntosh box is questionable after 15 years unless it is stored in climate controlled room (air conditioning with strong de-humidification).
If there is any question, get a box from Audio Classics. To me they are more sturdy than the McIntosh units.
Having said that, my Mac gear is almost all "vintage" (some pieces 40 years old), so I cannot compare new MAC boxes.
Keeping older boxes is becoming a problem for me since we recently moved for a 4,000 sq ft house into a 1,200 sq ft retirement facility.
