McIntosh Amp for Tannoy Legacy Cheviot Speakers

Well, in the land of McIntosh, we typically don't see those kinds of disparities. And it could be that the engineer of the DAC you had added some "flair" to the tube output ... or used cheap integrated components in the SS section to achieve a price point.

That's the link to the latest signature version of it. I had the previous model. I'd be interested in your opinion of it . It's the first good piece of hi fi I've had, the iFi and the Cambridge , it's all I have to go really experience wise, with the Tannoys. Before that I've had many vintage setups , celestion ditton 66, B&W DM2a, Rogers Studio 1, Rogers LS5/9, that type of thing. Vintage amps like sansui , Yamaha , quad . The iFi / Cambridge / Tannoy is a major step up for me.

Thanks again Damac I'd be very interested in your opinion . Patrick

Hard to say without hearing it ... have you evaluated the way it sounds through headphones?

Hi, no, just through the hi fi system I mentioned. It's very good sound, maybe when you get a chance have a look over it and some of the reviews. With the McIntosh itself, that's all I can so as I've never heard McIntosh . I've done most of my hi Fi over reviews and no demos as most of the stuff I had bought was vintage from abroad.

Thanks again, Patrick
