McIntosh and Aerial Acoustics - a good match?

I currently own C2200 preamp and have been thinking about MC402 to replace my Rotel 1090 amp for Aerial Acoustics model 8 speaker. Will this be a good match? CD player is Classe CDP-10 and cabling is from MIT.

Soundfan, I can't think of a speaker that a McIntosh amp would not be a good match for! be it a 252,402,501's 602,1201 and up!

McIntosh and Aerial are a great match! I use the MX119 + MC402 combination to drive the Aerial 7Bs, and in my opinion, this produces some of the clearest, cleanest, dynamic, exhilirating and non-fatiguing sound I've heard. Although a sub isn't truly needed since the 7Bs are rated down to 35Hz, I added an Aerial Acoustics SW12 sub and noticed an added depth and timbre to the sound stage, particularly in added vocal resonance. McIntosh and Aerial are a great combo - you won't go wrong with this.

Thanks Kaplan59 and Robert. I was pretty happy with Rotel 1090, but I thought they were not as clean/transparent. I will look forward to my MC-402 now.

Well folks, my MC-402 came in today and right out of the box, it sounds fabulous!! Very refined, smooth as compared to Rotel I was using. C2200 & MC-402 took my Aerial model 8 to another level....
