Hello folks, I've recently spent some time to revisit and refine my system again. I have collected a bunch of vintage tubes during the past 10-15 years. Mostly are German (sharper), French (sharp) and UK (smooth) tubes.
Has anyone noticing if you put all the way German (TFK) tubes sound quite terrible, it sounded so sharp that it's cutting my ears... On the other hand if I use all smooth sounded tubes al all round and it sounded kinda mushy and dark. My final setup is mixing sharp and smooth tubes in different area to balance out eachother. It's now giving me that vintage sweet, 3D and open sound stage.
P.S. only the in and out tubes were rolled on C2700. I don't use phono. Speakers are B&W 803D and the base is driven by a 400W SS amp.
Am I on the right direction, what's your experience?
